As a small business we are always looking for eco-friendly alternatives to maximise our impact, it’s the small details that make us stand out from the crowd, especially when using recycled materials throughout our brand.
Pretty Mama celebrates delivering the finest quality UK-produced investment maternity pieces, which is designed, hand-cut and made within the UK using recycled materials, and here is how we do it.
UK Made Sustainable Jumpers and T-shirts
The recycled fabrics are milled in Scotland and shipped to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne UK (our hometown) to be hand made by local skilled seamstresses. Our swing tags are made from recycled card in the UK and the garment labels are also made in the UK. These are tailor made to perfection!
Recycled Tissue Paper
The eco credentials of our recycled paper is that it is made from 99% recycled pulp fibres. It is PH resistant and there is no risk of the tissue paper running, bleeding, or fading onto products or gifts, making it a perfect option for you to reuse it after receiving it. Another great eco-friendly factor is that approximately 35% of the electricity used to make the tissue paper is produced from renewable sources.
Recycled Packaging
We ship every order out using a 100% recycled mailing bag from a UK Company. By re-using and then recycling the packaging we use, rather than just disposing of it after a single use, we can all help to reduce waste and save on raw materials, thereby cutting greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a greener, cleaner planet. We are minimising any environmental impact whilst still allowing us to get the job done.
Our 100% recycled bags are made using recyclable plastic from polyethylene - either low density (LDPE) or high density (HDPE), or polypropylene.
